Young Pianist of the North

Thank you again for your continued support

Thank you for so kindly awarding the competition £300.00 towards the inaugural Gillian Dickinson Award, the 1st prize in the category B (under the age of 17).

The prize went to a very deserving candidate, the15-year old pianist from texas, USA, Perren-Luc Thiessen. In spring 2018 he became one of the fifteen finalists, and the only American, chosen from 130 candidates to perform at the Grand Piano Competition at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, Russia with a prize fund of $40,000 and a grand piano for the winner of the 1st prize. Perren-Luc’s biography, published by all venues where he has played and will play in the future, mentions “the First Prize and Award for the Best Performance of a Romantic Work in the prestigious 2017 Young Pianist of the North International Piano Competition in the United Kingdom”. Recently Perren-Luc has performed in Poland, Italy, Vienna and the world-famous Carnegie Hall in New York. Like our other winners, he is an outstanding international ambassador for YPN.

Thank you again for your continued support to the work of the PianoforteNorth Foundation.
